Keep lightly weighted Concience in mind for Thurles handicap

The lightly weighted Concience looks interesting in the Ballagh Mares Handicap Hurdle (2.25) at Thurles on Thursday.

This Desmond McDonogh-trained mare is owned by Peter Newell, whose colours were carried to an improbable victory by the Mark Roper-trained Play The Part in the bumper at Wexford on Monday, after the odds-on favourite GleesonsTipp had looked home and hosed under Nina Carberry.

In common with Play The Part, Concience is by Kutub, a son of In The Wings. She won a bumper at Downpatrick last autumn and ran her best race over hurdles last time out when second to the John Kiely-trained Definite Income in a 22-runner handicap at Punchestown.
