Provided a morning inspection is passed, Cork stages its traditional new year fixture this afternoon, which is also its final meeting of the winter season. It will not be until the week after the Cheltenham Festival when racing returns to this venue.

There are likely to be some short-priced favourites winning this afternoon, but one which might buck that trend is the Gordon Elliott-trained Commentariolus in the GAIN Handicap Hurdle.
