Justin O'Hanlon thinks Aspire Tower is not banker material
The mares’ handicap hurdle (12.55) has attracted a big field. The suggestions are Jeremys Flame, after two solid efforts in Listed company in Britain, Harry Fry’s Ena Baie, who looks sure to be suited by a couple of extra furlongs, while at the bottom of the handicap Our Roxane could be a big player.
Aspire Tower is almost banker material in the Grade 1 juvenile hurdle (1.25), but the John McConnell-trained Never Do Nothing could be a fly in the ointment.
He won his only hurdles start at Musselburgh last month but defeated Aspire Tower twice on the Flat. It would be foolish to ignore him.
The Grade 1 novice hurdle (1.55) offers something of a conundrum with three Willie Mullins-trained runners, Paul Townend preferring Mt Leinster. Easywork defeated him quite convincingly at Gowran Park in November before his Limerick success and goes in.
Despite being the apparent Mullins second-string, impressive Naas winner Asterion Forlonge gets the second vote to continue his progression.
The 3m handicap hurdle (2.30) is ultra competitive and easily a dozen horses could be put in here without finding the winner.
The rapidly improving Silver Sheen, who completed a hat-trick of victories in a Pertemps Qualifier at Warwick last month, is suggested.
Column Of Fire gained a deserved success with ease in a Punchestown maiden last time and should relish the step up in trip.
The improvement in Treacysenniscorthy might not have come to an end either, and he should give a very good account as he searches for a four-timer.
The Grade 1 novice chase (3.00) could be a match between Battleoverdoyen and Faugheen, unbeaten novices at opposite ends of the age scale.
Delta Work scraped home here at Christmas but should continue to improve in the Irish Gold Cup (3.30).
Kemboy should be a lot straighter than he was at Christmas and with drying ground on a track which suits him well, he looks set to finish a lot closer this time.
