YOGI'S GIRL has the pace to make good use of her low draw and is fancied to come out on top in this trappy two-year-old contest (1.50).

David Evans’ filly can be forgiven her debut effort when ninth at Wolverhampton as she was caught widest of all and wasn’t knocked about once her chance had gone.

She clearly learned plenty from that as she was more professional when making all at Windsor in a decent time on her last start. She had to work hard as she was strongly pressed a long way from home but had plenty in the tank at the finish.

The time of that race was much better than anything her rivals here have achieved and she will enjoy the fast ground.

Aidan O’Brien has some top-class fillies at his disposal and looks to have a good chance of winning the Cheshire Oaks (2.25) for the third consecutive year with ALLURINGLY.

She didn’t look out of the top drawer in a couple of starts as a two-year-old but stepped up markedly when running away with a maiden over 1m1f at Tipperary on her return.

It shouldn’t have been a surprise that she improved on her first start beyond a mile as she’s bred for middle distances and she should be better again over this longer trip given the way she pulled clear in the final furlong. Fast ground will be fine for her.

This sprint handicap (3.00) has an open look to it with plenty of horses bringing good course form to the table, but they could all be trumped by Chester deburant TAEXALI.

His County Kilkenny trainer JP Shanahan has been hitting the mark regularly with his raiders in recent weeks and wouldn’t be making the trip if he didn’t think this horse would run well.

Taexali has won only one of his 20 starts, but he showed some fair form at Meydan this year and hasn’t been beaten far in good company in his two runs since then, including when sixth at 66-1 behind Washington DC last time. This is more his level.

It shouldn’t be long before his turn comes and he’s been given an ideal opportunity from stall two.

Alan King has been doing well with his runners on the Flat in recent weeks and has a good chance of landing the Chester Cup (3.35) with WHO DARES WINS on his first run since finishing an excellent third in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in March.

He equalled his career-best over jumps that day having also won a good race at Newbury’s Hennessy meeting earlier in the season.

If he can translate that improvement back to the Flat, then he could prove very well handicapped off a mark of 92.

Who Dares Wins has shown his best form has been on a sound surface and likes the track having won his only start at Chester by five lengths last summer.

That was over a much shorter trip, but he stays well and this 2m2½f test should be perfect.

A decent draw in stall seven should allow him to sit just off the pace before pouncing late, although as always at Chester he will still need the gaps to open at the right time.

Marwan Koukash likes nothing better than winning at Chester and he owns three of the runners, with ANGEL GABRIAL the most interesting.

He ran well when fourth on his comeback behind Carbon Dating and should be backed each-way. He needs plenty of luck from the widest draw but the price compensates for that.
