Delta Work is an improving staying chaser but I wasn’t impressed with his jumping around this track when he was a beaten favourite in the RSA Chase last year. He made errors early in the contest, notably at the third and fourth, and also hit four out before getting in tight at the second last.

It’s a testament to his ability that he was able to finish so close behind Topofthegame and Santini in third, but he will need a much better round than last year if he is to be competitive in the Gold Cup and he is pitched against a rock-solid performer in this match bet in Clan Des Obeaux.
