Bottomweight can make concession count in Morgiana

There was some worrying news coming out of Willie Mullins' yard during the week. My pin-up girl Annie Power worked badly and as a result she misses the StanJames.com Morgiana Hurdle (2.20) at Punchestown today.

With most horses this would not be too much of a worry, but Annie Power is such a generous, keen-going mare that I cannot believe she ever works badly. I am hoping that there is nothing seriously wrong with her and that she was just under the weather, but I will be waiting on tenterhooks for news from the Mullins yard.

As you would expect Mullins is still very likely to win the race for the sixth year running because last year's winner Nichols Canyon is back for more and if he is anywhere near his best he is going to take an awful lot of beating.
