In-form Perfection poised to go one better on the Rowley Mile

Credit: Edward Whitaker

Newmarket: David Milnes

Uber Cool (3.40 Newmarket, nap)

Ascendant apprentice Ray Dawson has the chance to put his name in lights on Jane Chapple-Hyam’s stayer, who was a decent winner at Yarmouth last time. He has been in form on Warren Hill.

Others to follow
Newmarket 1.50 Waldstern, 2.25 Boerhan, 3.00 Too Darn Hot, 4.50 Perfection, 5.25 Gabr.
York 2.05 Mountain Angel, 2.40 Garrus, 4.25 Fares Kodiac, 5.00 Master Archer.
Chelmsford 5.45 El Gumryah, 6.15 Open Sea, 6.45 Flora Tristan, 7.15 Lethal Angel, 7.45 London, 8.15 Guardiola, 8.45 Imperial Choice, 9.15 Dame Nellie

Lambourn: James Burn

Qutob (4.25 York, nap)

Beaten favourite when second on two appearances at Nottingham, but retains potential and is well thought of by trainer Charlie Hills. Any ease in the ground is not expected to be a problem.

Others to follow
Chelmsford 6.15 Orchid Killer, 7.15 Dreamboat Annie, 7.45 Najashee, 8.45 Ashazuri, 9.15 Cosmogyral.
Chepstow 1.55 Pym, 3.35 Monbeg Legend, 4.10 Nayati, 4.45 River Frost, 5.20 Brave Eage, 5.55 Chill In The Wood.
Hexham 2.50 Simply The Betts.
Newmarket 1.50 Nate The Great, 2.25 Felix The Poet, 3.00 Advertise, 3.40 Just In Time, 4.15 Indian Viceroy, 5.25 Hathal.
York 2.05 Majboor, 2.40 Motagally, 3.50 Even Keel, 5.00 Alfredo.

North: Richard Young

Tommy Taylor (3.15 York, nap)

Both wins have been at this course and shaped as though coming to hand with a fine third at Ascot two runs ago. Bogged down in bad ground at Ayr last time but fancied to go well back on better going at this venue.

Others to follow
Chelmsford 5.45 Country Star, 6.45 Spirit Of Zebedee, 7.15 Kodicat, 7.45 Weellan, 8.15 Mr Potter, 9.15 With Hindsight.
Chepstow 4.45 Zalvados.
Hexham 2.15 Bako De La Saulaie, 2.50 Icefall, 3.25 Eager To Know, 4.00 Sharp Response, 4.35 John Williams, 5.10 Mr Scrumpy.

West Country: Andrew King

Louis’ Vac Pouch (4.45 Chepstow)

Makes his seasonal bow in race in which he was unlucky 12 months ago. His yard is in cracking form.

Others to follow
Chepstow 1.55 Umndeni, 2.30 Lord Duveen, 3.05 Empreinte Reconce, 3.35 Master Tommytucker, 4.10 Grand Sancy, 5.20 Rock The Kasbah, 5.55 The Wicket Chicken.
Newmarket 3.40 Vis A Vis.

Racing Post Ratings: Paul Curtis

Mountain Angel (2.05 York, nap)

Might have won his last two starts with better luck and gives the impression that he is better than his current mark.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Perfection (4.50 Newmarket)

She can go one better than when runner-up over course and distance last week.

Longshot: Olly Eden

My Lord And Master (2.05 York)

William Haggas is flying and his lightly raced colt was twice Listed placed at the start of the year before disappointing last time on return from a four-month break. Entitled to come on for the run and any rain shouldn’t be a problem.

Ireland: Tony O’Hehir

The King (2.45 Limerick)

Although he has failed to win this season, the Jessica Harrington-trained three-year-old makes plenty of appeal in this Listed event having produced a career best when third in a Group 3 event at Leopardstown last month. The ground has also come in his favour and there is plenty to like.

The Raceform Interactive nugget

Five of the last ten Irish-trained Dewhurst (3.00 Newmarket) winners ran in the National Stakes, in which Anthony Van Dyck fared best.
