I think I've spotted Derby and Oaks contenders - at Ffos Las and Salisbury

British racing undoubtedly has its problems, but one thing that can't be sniffed at is the quality on the track.

We have horses bred to be running in the Derby going hurdling, and on the Flat the horses from a mile upwards remain the envy of most of the world.

That is because Britain still has the best bloodstock in the world – in fact, I think it's more healthy now that it has been for years.
