Huntingdon Placepot picks: Tom Segal takes aim at the guaranteed £100,000 pool

Cases can be made for nearly all the runners in the Peterborough Chase (2.55) on a cracking Huntingdon card and last year's winner First Flow is an obvious Placepot choice.

He goes in with Pic D'Orhy, who has always had loads of potential and has been targeted at this race by Paul Nicholls.

Spirit D'Aunou made a highly encouraging debut for Gary Moore at Kempton and should win the opener (12.15) without too much fuss, while School Days Over was a good bumper horse and should hit the frame in the 1.15.

The three handicaps are much trickier but First Impression ran well in the Greatwood last time and was an improved horse on the Flat, so he looks the one to be on in the 2.20.

Poker Master has won his last three at Huntingdon and has everything in his favour in the 12.45. He has to go in but he's up in the weights in a better race, so it's worth including Sermando as well.

Sermando ran well in a similar race off a similar mark last time and will like the good ground.

I'm hoping all eight line up the 1.45 to allow three places. Art Of Illusion is open to more improvement after a wind operation and is included with Great D'Ange, who comes from a stable in good form.
