Huntingdon Placepot picks: Richard Birch with an eight-line perm on Tuesday

Impulsive One stamped himself a highly promising young hurdler when cruising clear on his debut at Plumpton, and rates Huntingdon Placepot banker material in the juvenile hurdle (1.55).

The 2m4f handicap chase (2.30) looks far less straightforward to solve. Demon D'Aunou was a wide-margin Stratford scorer two starts ago and might be worth forgiving a subsequent Uttoxeter flop.

A change of scenery can work wonders for some horses, and it may have benefitted Court Duty, who is more than capable of winning this race if on-song. He should be included in perms too.

Island Nation possesses the best form in the 2m novice hurdle (3.05), but it's a standard that should prove within reach of Newcastle bumper winner Argonauta.

The Milton Harris stable continues in terrific form, and Achy Breaky Heart, a winner at Newton Abbot in July, remains well enough treated to land the novice handicap chase (3.40).

All-the-way Fontwell scorer Midnight Jewel is another who could still be on a fair mark, and ought to make a bold bid to follow up in division one of the 2m3½f handicap hurdle (4.15).

Salley Gardens took advantage of a nice mark to oblige at Perth, and should go close again in division two (4.50). Course-and-distance winner Akkapenko also makes some appeal.
