Unbeaten sprinter Nervous Witness is the star attraction on a quality card at Sha Tin on Sunday, but a watching brief is suggested as he will be virtually unbackable at long odds-on in the Class 3 dash down the straight 5f course (8.40).

Trainer David Hayes is sticking to his policy of letting him work his way through the grades, but the four-year-old is not merely progressing, he is leapfrogging his way forward, going up 28lb for his two wins. An awkward draw (stall four) is unlikely to impede him.

While Nervous Witness tops the bill, the consistent Tourbillon Diamond gets his chance to land a big prize in the Group 3 Sa Sa Ladies’ Purse, over 1m1f (8.05), which features several with aspirations of running at the international meeting in five weeks.

A slow pace in the middle stages brought about Tourbillon Diamond’s defeat on his last start, but with Ka Ying Star and Reliable Team in the eight-runner field, it should be a solid gallop throughout, which will better suit last year's Australian Derby third.

It is interesting that Zac Purton is back on Glorious Dragon, who has a few options from stall one, and therefore should be handy behind the speed from the start. He looks the danger, although Columbus County and Champion’s Way should both show marked improvement on previous runs.

John Size has gradually made progress with his big stable, and although he trails championship leader Jimmy Ting by ten winners, Master Delight in the Class 3 1m handicap (9.15) can give him a timely boost.

Master Delight failed to fulfil earlier promise when fourth over 7f last time but he should be suited by the step up to the mile and is the one to beat from his inside draw (stall four). He was previously third at a big price on his Hong Kong debut behind two promising types in Packing Victory and Five Elements.

Earlier on the card, Harry Bentley holds each-way prospects on the Ricky Yiu-trained Nimble Nimbusin the Class 4 7f handicap (7.00), in which Happy Daily is the danger.

Nimble Nimbus, a New Zealand four-year-old by top miler Sacred Falls, ran a cracker when fourth over course and distance on his most recent start, and he would not need to improve much to take a hand in the finish.
