Hong Kong racing tips: pool betting expertise for Sha Tin on Saturday

Saturday's Sha Tin card offers a mixed turf and dirt card that makes for a tricky Placepot throughout the latter part of the meeting.

At the moment, all eyes are on Zac Purton and Joao Moreira as they aim to add another jockeys' title to their record. Purton holds a seven-win lead over Moreira, 136 to 129 with only six meetings left in the Hong Kong season.

There are a number of races on Saturday when there looks to be little between their mounts, with third-placed rider Karis Teetan also boasting a strong hand.

It might be worth trying to follow Teetan – the 'Mauritian Magician' – throughout the Placepot, hoping that the top two riders have an off day and aren't able to possess the dominance for which they have become familiar with in recent weeks.

A 'Circuit' double looks possible for Teetan, with Circuit Hassler (8.35) and Circuit Three (10.45) appearing two of his better chances. Both must be included in the Placepot and could be considered candidates as a banker in a bid to reduce the outlay.

The Mauritian takes the ride on hot favourite Party Everyday (8.00) in the first leg of the Placepot. He's a contender, but it is worth including likely leader Megatron and Purton's mount Momentum Happy instead in this 1m½f dirt contest.

The other potential move is to play the Swinger in that race. Stand out the 8, Megatron, and include 2 Chung Wah Spirit, 7 Copartner Spirit and 9 Momentum Happy with him.
