High-class mare should win if ready to roll after absence

Credit: Matt Cardy

Smart Call
3.15 Kempton
SP forecast 5-2

Very high-class mare who was a champion in South Africa, winning three Grade 1s, including the J&B Met. Hasn't quite come up to scratch since moving to Sir Michael Stoute, but has contested only Group 1 and Group 2 contests since January 2016 and now drops to Listed class. Official rating dropped from 119 to 110 by the end of last season, but that still makes her the highest-rated in the field by 9lb and more.

Conclusion Best mare in the race by a country mile and should be much shorter on form alone. The question is whether she'll be ready first time, but unless Jeremy Noseda's lightly raced La Figlia (left in the Lockinge) is a star, she really should win.
