High-class bumper mare can make light of modest opposition on handicap debut
Getaway Katie Mai
4.40 Navan
1pt win at 13-2
Getaway Katie Mai hasn't been given an easy task on her handicap debut on the Flat in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at Navan (4.40) but she won the Grade 2 Aintree bumper, despite being set an awful lot to do, and she looked good when winning her maiden at Listowel at this trip last time.
That wasn't a good race and she isn't well treated on that form. However, she won with her ears pricked, the ground will be perfect, she has a nice draw and her hurdles and bumper form suggests she's more than capable of winning races like this on the Flat.
