This week's column could have been filled with late-season two-year-olds, but this four-year-old daughter of Montmartre ran a nice race in an interesting mares' bumper on the first day of the two-day Punchestown fixture last week

She raced just behind the lead and ran quite keenly for much of the way, but made up her ground stylishly to move into a challenging position. Her effort flattened out inside the last furlong – her early exertions can probably be blamed for that – but she was not really knocked about and the experience should bring her on a good deal.
