'He's been in great form all year and the ground and trip will be fine'

Brian Ellison, trainer of Tashkhan
We're not going to run him again on fast ground, he's had three goes at it and it's no good to him. It's just a waste of time, he wants soft ground. It doesn't look like that is the case, unless we have a flash flood. He's in both [Lonsdale Cup and Ebor] and we'll have a look but he'll probably run in one of them. He would be able to carry the weight.

Hughie Morrison, trainer of Quickthorn and Not So Sleepy
Quickthorn is in good order and he seems to have come back well from France. We don’t want to prepare him for a race and find that it’s concrete so we’ll sit on it for a week or two, but we’re not dismissing it. We got lucky last year when it rained and if we’d have ridden him more prominently we might have even won it. Ideally, I’d love it to be heavy ground and have Not So Sleepy run because I think he’d have a really good shout off 98. I thought he ran to about 104 the other day [in the Coral Marathon at Sandown] but the handicapper didn’t put him up. That would be the ideal, but he would need about 30 horses to come out.

Ismail Mohammed, trainer of Away He Goes
He came back after Royal Ascot okay, he is in good nick and is in full training to get him ready for the Goodwood Cup. Let us finish this race and then we will make a decision as to where we will go with him.
