This four-year-old bumper can often be a rich source of winners. More than one could have been picked from this renewal but I have plumped for this Martin Brassil-trained newcomer.

Held up, he began to make ground in the last half-mile, seeming to hit a flat spot at the turn into the straight, but started to run on again when his rider began to push him out with hands and heels, and he hit the line quite hard.

A son of Jukebox Jury, he looks the sort to stay well and is likely to handle most ground conditions. He is one to look forward to.

This gelded son of Golden Horn, a Godolphin cast-off, was an unusual runner in a juvenile maiden hurdle because he had never run under rules, but he showed enough to suggest he has a future.
