There are obvious risks when it comes to backing a horse whose last four runs have produced letters rather than numbers, but Hatcher has become incredibly well handicapped and his latest effort wasn't as bad as it the result suggests.

On his final start last season, the nine-year-old was still in there with a chance when coming down two out in a Listed handicap at the Scottish National meeting, but he's now 10lb lower after just two more outings this season.
