Harrington coLt can score for O'Donoghue

TWO days after confirming his reputation as one of the best big-race riders in the business by landing the Yorkshire Oaks on Seventh Heaven, Colm O'Donoghue can continue his profitable association with trainer Jessica Harrington by capturing a 6f juvenile maiden (2.10) at the Curragh with the once-traced Khukri.

A son of the Australian-bred Sepoy out of a German-bred mare who won the Grade 1 E P Taylor Stakes for Ed Dunlop, Khukri made a good impression with a prominent showing over the course and trip eight weeks ago. The form looks solid, since the winner Intelligence Cross ran with particular credit when second to Mehmas in the July Stakes before finishing third of four in the Richmond. Third-placed Pious Alexander is considered worthy of a run in today's Group 3 event, and fourth-placed Whitecliffsofdover was an emphatic winner of a Naas maiden on his second outing. Another plus-factor is that Ballydoyle is not represented in the 18-runner field.
