Lithic has never been that prolific and has yet to win a chase in 15, but he has been in the first three in eight of them, sometimes in decent handicaps, and he has been shaping as though he is going to win one sooner or later.

He has been running consistently well in 3m handicaps at the end of last season and his returning pulled-up effort at Exeter in November can easily be forgiven as that track will find out any horse who isn't fit.
