An extra Dundalk meeting is the treat for Irish racing fans starved of midweek action of whatever hue it might be and, for a card with a seemingly bottomless pit of low-grade handicaps, it is surprising how many betting opportunities there seem to be.

The first division of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap (6.00) is a case in point and the one stands out is the Prunella Dobbs-trained Arbourfield.

This gelded son of Moss Vale has always produced his best here, both wins having come at this track this year and he has been dropped to a mark just a pound above his course and distance winning mark of three runs ago. In addition Billy Lee, who has ridden him to his two previous wins here, is back on board.
