Halford filly should have little difficulty in winning a maiden

There are some long-term projects in this week's column that will not be winning immediately but could be well worth following in due course and A Long Day is one of them.

Well behind for most of the way in this maiden hurdle, he remained that way in terms of his finishing position, beating only three of his rivals. However, he did show something late in the race as he came home quite well to be beaten less than 30 lengths. He was strong at the line and it wasn't a bad effort in the circumstances.
