Halford can keep up his Dundalk dominance with handicap double

One of those days that has something for everyone with Tramore concluding its four-day festival with an all-jumping programme, and Dundalk staging some quality Flat action with a couple of valuable handicaps forming the centrepiece of a seven-race programme.

Michael Halford could enjoy a good day at Dundalk and he looks to have particularly solid claims in the Bar One Racing Mourne Handicap (3.10), as he is represented by course specialist and stable stalwart Russian Soul, but it is very interesting that Shane Foley elects to take the mount on stable companion Vitello.

This filly was a very promising juvenile, a defeat of high-class filly Now Or Never in a Fairyhouse maiden the highlight. While she has been slow enough to come to hand this season, she showed a bit in a Listed contest at Naas last time when she might have been in front soon enough in finishing fifth to Fort Del Oro. While the draw isn’t favourable it doesn't mean as much here as it once did and she should be thereabouts.
