It is less than six weeks since Zabeel Prince became a first-time Group 1 winner at the age of six in the Prix d'Ispahan and his chances of making the frame in the Eclipse are undersold by the index.

Had he not run in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, when he was tailed off, Zabeel Prince would have been half the price and cost a lot more to buy on the index. His run on soft ground at Ascot, held up in a race which favoured those closer to the speed, is forgivable enough.
