Hasn't fired at Ascot, where he was well held in last week's Hunt Cup, since his two-year-old days but his record on the July course is much more reassuring. He beat last year's July Cup winner US Navy Flag in the Group 2 July Stakes at the course in 2017 and was a good fourth of 18 in the Bunbury Cup over this 7f distance nearly a year ago.

He recorded a career-best effort at York the time before Ascot and a reproduction would give him solid claims up in grade, now he is returned to his optimum trip.
