Dominant stayer this season, winning all four starts, but after an easy win under a penalty at York in May, has had to work hard for his other three.

Game wins in the Gold Cup here and the Goodwood Cup were followed by his successful attempt at landing the new stayers’ triple crown in the Lonsdale Cup at York, but he made real hard work of conceding a 3lb penalty to the 105-rated Count Octave there on ground he was supposed to like.
