Ultragold
Randox Health Grand National, best price 40-1 Betfair and Paddy Power
Ultragold’s form figures read 3121 over the National course. In a nutshell, he raises his game and is a serious force over those fences. The dual Topham hero delivered another rock-solid performance when third earlier this month in the 3m2f Becher Chase over the longest trip he has tackled. His stamina for an extra mile is obviously unproven, bsvut the ground is likely to be less testing and he is a spring horse who comes alive at the National meeting. At best odds of 40-1, I am happy to take the chance on him getting home.

Dubai Warrior
Investec Derby, 33-1 Unibet
He created a highly favourable impression on his debut at Chelmsford in November, surging clear for an easy success and looking a smart colt in the making. The John Gosden-trained Enable and Without Parole started their careers with similarly convincing all-weather wins, and Dubai Warrior could be another potential Group 1 winner for the yard. He’s open to any amount of improvement and is worth an ante-post investment at 33-1 for the Derby.

O O Seven
Randox Health Grand National, 50-1 generally
Nicky Henderson really wants to win the Grand National, and O O Seven has emerged as a contender after his first win in nearly two years at Doncaster on Saturday – his first start since a summer wind operation. O O Seven showed his liking for the sport's most famous fences when fourth in last year's Topham, but Henderson is perhaps not convinced stamina is the eight-year-old's forte. Nevertheless, he did win over 3m as a novice hurdler, has a touch of class – he was second to Yorkhill in the 2016 Tolworth – and would enjoy decent spring ground at Aintree.
