Friday's free racing tips: our experts give their best bets of the day

Handicappers' nap

Scheme (7.05 Wolverhampton)

On an upward curve and posted an RPR of 80 when second to a well-bred Godolphin recruit last time. Gets in here off a nice mark and a repeat may be enough.

Newmarket nap

Wise Ruler (6.45 Newcastle)

Unlucky to run into the useful First In Line at Doncaster last time, Simon Crisford's chestnut has since impressed on the watered gallop.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Rudy Lewis (4.45 Thirsk)

Fared best of those from the back at Salisbury two weeks ago and didn't get that much luck. He has clearly started off in handicaps on a fair mark and can make amends.
Raceform

Our analysts from Raceform find eyecatchers at all meetings in the UK and Ireland, every day. Essential subscribers can read their expert view on every race

Irish Angle

Kattani (6.50 Curragh)

Although 2lb out of the handicap, the Dermot Weld-trained three-year-old is at the right end of the weights for his handicap debut in the Irish Cambridgeshire and Chris Hayes's mount can follow up his five-length win in June.
Tony O'Hehir

Speed figures

Alfa Dawn (5.15 Thirsk)

Overhauled in the closing stages at Beverley a fortnight ago but stuck to his task and deserves to belatedly open his account.
Dave Edwards

Spotlights nap

Lyndon B (3.50 Sandown)

Visored the last two starts, winning well on handicap debut at Leicester and staying on well for third of 18 from out the back at Goodwood. Met trouble in running over two furlongs out in the latter event and this race is nothing like so competitive, so big chance if he settles adequately.

Dark horse

Albanita (6.15 Newcastle)

Raced only once on the all-weather when won easily at Chelmsford. Met serious trouble last time out when blocked on the rail when travelling the best.
Sam Hardy

Must-have stat of the day

Gnaad has only won twice in his last 16 starts, but both of those victories were over 5f at Sandown and he returns to that course and distance for the first time since September last year at 2.40.
