Paul Nicholls had a strong entry for a race he has won once with Royal Auclair, and which was won by some famous names in the early 1980s such as Diamond Edge and Brown Chamberlin.

His Southfield Theatre has had a very up-and-down career since his novice days. He showed lots of promise in the Badger Ales Chase, only to regress at Sandown where he had previously run well more than once. The cheekpieces are now swapped for blinkers.

Fourth to Cogry in the handicap chase at the October meeting won by former winners Yorkshire Gale and Midnight Chase, Robinsfirth subsequently ran well in testing ground at Haydock. These conditions will suit him much better.
