Black Corton ran a terrific race in the Galway Plate, in which he was greatly inconvenienced by a loose horse on the run-in. He was entered in the Charlie Hall, in which he was runner-up last year, but bids to win his first handicap off 163 having finished runner-up off 155 and 158.

Go Conquer finished third last year in his attempt to follow up his previous year’s victory. He later won won the Sky Bet Chase, but was pulled up at Aintree and Sandown in April. He is well capable of going well when fresh on decent ground.
