Pearl Spectre open to more progress for Phil McEntee

This five-year-old won a mile handicap at Southwell for Andrew Balding in March and has returned to form since joining in-form Phil McEntee's yard last month.

Well beaten on his debut for the stable here this month, Pearl Spectre showed more when sixth over tonight's 6f trip at Lingfield 12 days later. He had enough pace to dispute the lead until inside the final furlong and dropped away only late on.
