Exeter Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway gives his selections for Sunday's fixture

Only seven line up in the opening 2m3f novice chase (2.00), the first leg of the Placepot at Exeter, so just two places are on offer. Gustavian and Midnight River look like solid options.

The following 2m2½f novice hurdle (2.30) can go to Triple Trade, who won well at Lingfield last time.

Only two places will be on offer in the feature 2m½f novice hurdle (3.00) and I’m keen to oppose favourite Stage Star. Moriko De Vassy and Peking Rose are the obvious alternatives.

The 2m7f handicap hurdle (3.30) is another race that only offers two places. I’m confident in going with a banker here, though, in the shape of the improving stayer Emmpressive Lady.

Venetia Williams can do little wrong at the moment and Kapga De Lily should go well for her in the 3m mares’ chase (4.00). The classy and in-form Chilli Filli looks the best alternative.

The 3m veterans’ handicap chase (4.30) is the final leg and Aso’s class should get him a long way here. He goes in with the Philip Hobbs-trained Jerrysback, who looks well treated.
