'Everything looks set for a bold show' - three eyecatchers to note on Thursday

Sire Du Berlais
2.10 Cheltenham

It's over to the New course for Thursday's action and it's a track Sire Du Berlais knows extremely well, as he bids to become the first horse to win the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle (2.10) three times since 1981. Winner of the race in 2019 and 2020, he subsequently went on to finish a highly creditable second to Flooring Porter in last year's Stayers' Hurdle.

His progress seemed to stop there, having not been at the same level this season, but he finds himself just 4lb above his 2020 winning mark here and the most capable Rob James offsets 7lb. He qualified by finishing fourth at Warwick, a race he filled the same spot in back in 2020, and everything looks set for a bold show under top weight.
