Evening Angles: trainer stats, RPRs and a jockey to follow
Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a jockey to follow . . .
Trainer form
Executive Force
7.45 Kempton
Angle: Michael Wigham has had three winners from five runners in handicaps for horses aged three and over at Kempton this season.
Executive Force has been prolific on the all-weather recently, winning six times from eight starts since February as well as finishing second behind the Mark Johnston-trained Matterhorn here in March.
The five-year-old is going beyond 1m2f for the first time and faces a smart rival in all-weather debutant Collide, but he is in good form and is one to watch.
Ratings
Pentland Lad
6.15 Kempton
Angle:a rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop this progressive three-year-old.
Pentland Lad can defy a 6lb rise in the weights after justifying odds-on favouritism over course and distance last week, which saw his career-best RPR rise to 60 from 49.
The Charlie Fellowes-trained three-year-old has improved with each run for the yard and was a comfortable winner under Oisin Murphy last time, beating Zorro's Girl by three and a half lengths.
There could be more improvement to come and the booking of James Doyle is a bonus.
Wild card
8.15 Kempton
Angle: In-form jockey Dylan Hogan has just one ride today.
Apprentice Dylan Hogan is currently operating at a 23 per cent strike-rate with three winners in the past fortnight and partners Mount Wellington for his only ride of the day.
Formerly trained by Aidan O'Brien, Mount Wellington has a poor strike-rate for trainer Henry Spiller but drops down in class after placing on his last two starts.
