Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a trainer-jockey combination worth noting.

Trainer form

Rufus King
8.10 Ripon
Angle: Mark Johnston's excellent form of late has yielded 26 winners from 87 runners over the past fortnight.

Mark Johnston has his string is excellent form at the moment having sent out winners at a 30 per cent strike-rate over the past two weeks. Rufus King can be unpredictable but has been running well of late – as advertised by promising performances at Haydock and Chelmsford on his last two starts – and can get his head in front for the first time this season in the mile handicap at Ripon.

Ratings

Arctic Sea
7.50 Windsor
Angle: Clear from rivals on adjusted RPRs and has slipped to a dangerous mark

A 2019 formline reading 32505 does not inspire great confidence but Arctic Sea has now slipped to 1lb below his last winning mark and could rediscover his form in this trappy contest. The Paul Cole-trained five-year-old has only ever won on the all-weather, but showed his ability on turf with a decent second at Pontefract in April. He is 2lb clear of his nearest rival on RPRs and could be primed to run well at a price.

Wild card

Fearless Warrior
8.50 Windsor
Angle: Ralph Beckett and Oisin Murphy have a 40 per cent strike-rate when combining with runners at Windsor

This duo have a fearsome record with runners at Windsor and this three-year-old can be the latest to benefit. After making progress over four starts as a two-year-old, this son of Sea The Stars has stalled somewhat this term but now sits on an attractive mark based on his Newmarket second in October. He can rediscover the winning formula here.
