Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on jockey form, Racing Post Ratings and, tonight's wild card combination strike-rate.

Bernie's Boy
6.00 Wolverhampton
Angle: jockey form

Top amateur rider Simon Walker has a respectable 26 per cent strike-rate at Wolverhampton and he has just one ride today.

Bernie's Boy hasn't been particularly reliable of late, but he was a course-and-distance winner at a similar time last year and has dropped to a mark of 70.

Considering he won off 81 as a three-year-old, a bounce back to form looks very possible.

8.00 Wolverhampton
Angle: recorded a career-best RPR last time out

Mark Johnston's lightly raced three-year-old didn't show much in three starts as a juvenile, but stepped up on those efforts at Newcastle on reappearance.

Ridden prominently, he stuck to his task well when trying 1m4½f for the first time, finishing a pleasing second behind Lord Lamington. He recorded a career-best RPR of 56 in the process, 5lb better than anything he achieved at two.

He remains unexposed and more improvement looks likely.

Palladium
8.30 Wolverhampton
Angle: trainer and jockey strike-rate

Connections will be hoping Champs Elysees colt Palladium can make it third time lucky in the concluding maiden stakes.

Interestingly, trainer Martyn Meade is operating at a 20 per cent strike-rate having enjoyed two winners from his last ten runners, while he also does particularly well when teaming up with Rob Hornby.

The rider has ridden five winners from 25 rides for Meade, a 20 per cent strike-rate – he looks to have a very good chance of adding to that tally.
