Erratic Son Of Sampers looks a highly promising sort for Michael Halford

It was an informative week on the two-year-old front in Ireland, Britain and France. Plenty of high-profile juveniles strutted their stuff but there were plenty of potentially informative maidens too, and this filly showed some ability in a competitive Dundalk maiden.

She was not that quickly into stride and never in a challenging position. She also raced a bit green when initially asked to improve her position in the straight, so it was not until the last furlong she began to pick up. What she did from there to the line was her best work.
