Doncaster Placepot picks: Paul Kealy takes on the market leaders in the Lincoln
Placepot punters are going to have to deal with unraced two-year-olds for their opening legs for the next few weeks at least, but in the Brocklesby (1.15) at Doncaster we have a standout on pedigree.
fetched €225,000 as a yearling and is a brother to trainer Richard Hannon's Super Sprint winner Gubbass.
He's going to go off very short but I can't be banking on unraced horses, so will add another. Jiffy Boy was the early one for money despite costing just 1,500gns, but Kiss N Cuddle, related to plenty of winners, gets the nod.
Only seven go in the next (1.50), but is the right favourite and goes really well fresh so I will take a chance and bank on him.
could make his fitness tell in the third (2.25), but it's also hard to leave out the progressive , who has finished in the first two on his last six starts.
is a shade of odds-on for the four-runner Doncaster Mile (3.00) but in reality should be nearer 2-5. He has yet to win over a mile, but he's 2-2 first time out, 2-2 at the track and has much stronger form at the trip than any of his three rivals.
I'll be opposing all three market leaders in the Lincoln (3.35) with the three I have backed – , and – so that just leaves the maiden (4.10).
boasts easily the best form of those to have run, and even if one or two of the newcomers prove to be useful, he should hit the frame.
