Discreet Hero set to reveal his true colours

Banksea fancied to reverse Newmarket form 2.00 Goodwood

The 1m2f three-year-old handicap at Newmarket won by Ode To Evening at the start of this month has thrown up seven of the last ten winners of this opening contest, but all seven were beaten at the July meeting and Banksea can continue that trend by reversing the form with the winner this afternoon.

Luca Cumani’s three-year-old finished four and a quarter lengths behind Ode To Evening in fifth on that occasion, but should be considered better than the bare form as he did well to get so close after pulling fiercely in the early stages. If he gets more cover and settles here from stall seven, he should be capable of an improved display on 6lb better terms.
