Silvestre de Sousa expects to be busier than ever on his return to Hong Kong and can rely on local icon Tony Cruz to provide him with an all-important first day winner at Sunday's Sha Tin meeting.

Local racing people are fickle when it comes to jockeys, and even a British champion has to re-establish his reputation if he is to continue to pick up good rides.

Famous Warrior (8.40), in the Class 3 handicap over 1m1f, can put De Sousa back in the headlines.

The five-year-old won four races in Australia, including competitive contests at strong provincial meetings in New South Wales and Queensland, but is still a maiden in Hong Kong after eight starts.

Interestingly, he has never been tested beyond an extended mile, and could well prove a revelation with the step up in trip. It is certainly a good starting point for the jockey’s scheduled four-month stint.

Pakistan Star (8.05) is favoured to return to the winner’s enclosure in the 1m1f Group 3 Ladies’ Purse, the feature on this 10-race card.

Karis Teetan will be more than happy to let the bold-running Time Warp and Glorious Forever take each other on in the early and middle stages. Pakistan Star will be a force when produced in the home straight.

For a little value, follow Harmony Hero (9.50) in the finale, a 7f Class 2 contest that could prove ideal. The Richard Gibson-trained four-year-old is very lightly-raced, has significant potential and is a good ride for Matthew Chadwick.
