David Baxter with his best two-year-old bet at Lingfield on Sunday
Isabella Swan
1.05 Lingfield
1pt win
Clive Cox was out of luck with his first batch of juvenile runners on Thursday at Newmarket, but several of them shaped with promise, including Get It – who like Isabella Swan – is progeny of first-season sire Twilight Son.
Get It ran very well to be second on debut, showing plenty of dash against the rail, and the hope is Isabella Swan can show similar speed to take advantage of a decent draw in stall four.
Jockey Hector Crouch has proven a potent rider for Cox when aboard the trainer's juveniles with 14 winners from 97 rides at a 14 per cent strike-rate, and the jockey has a strike-rate of 16 per cent (four from 25) on two-year-olds at Lingfield for the last five seasons.
