Danish Duke sizzles late on to deny Declamation

Declamation's jockey appeared to be looking around for dangers after cruising into the lead in the 6f handicap at Ayr and he was backed down to 1.1 on Betfair. However, heavily backed favourite Danish Duke was just beginning to find his stride on the stands' rail and swept past inside the final furlong to win going away.

Favourite Peterbrown traded at a high-looking 12 before landing the 2m7f handicap chase at Worcester with something in hand. Winning jockey Liam Heard improved to 3-3 for trainer Philip Hobbs this season.

There was surely an overreaction to Fisherman Frank's outsider status in the bumper at Worcester. Despite always being thereabouts, the 25-1 shot was matched at 100 on his way to victory.
