Cross Step proves the villain to Hero backers

>>The 1m3½f maiden at Lingfield produced a stirring finish. Favourite Humble Hero took ages to find his stride and, despite Ryan Moore throwing everything at him, it wasn't soon enough as he failed by a short head to peg back Cross Step after trading at 1.13 on Betfair.

The winner was done at a big-looking 90, while third home Glassy Waters was backed at 1.67 despite possessing one of the most alarming head carriages I've seen.
