Creative Flair looks a solid buy to upset hot favourite Snow Lantern

Snow Lantern is a warm order for this Listed race, but she doesn't yet have the form to warrant her cramped odds and makes the market for a play on something to beat her.

Creative Flair could be the one. The Charlie Appleby-trained filly achieved a Racing Post Rating 2lb higher than Snow Lantern managed for her last-time-out Newbury success when winning a mile conditions race at Ascot last time, and she is still a lightly raced improver.

She has stamina in her pedigree and a Ribblesdale entry suggests she will get further, but she showed lots of pace in that Ascot contest and never looked like being caught after racing prominently. She showed a good attitude and was well on top of some promising rivals.

Appleby saddled a horse with a similar profile, Hurricane Lane, to win the Dante on Thursday on only his third start, while Creative Flair has the potential to step up on just her fourth run.

William Buick has chosen Creative Flair ahead of stablemate Divine Light, who he has partnered on both her starts, and a top-two finish for Creative Flair will secure a profit.
