Course winner back on decent mark and should go close

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

No. 4
Katachenko
1pt win at 5-1 generallyI backed Katachenko ante-post for the Grand Sefton, but trainer Donald McCain evidently thinks this is an easier contest to win and he's probably right.

The eight-year-old has become very well handicapped and is now 2lb lower than when he won the 2016 Red Rum over 2m here.

He has been tried at different trips since, but one of his best runs came when second over 3m1f on the soft at Catterick in February, so there's no reason to worry over this 2m4f distance, even with the race being run over 100 yards further than advertised.
