Consistent Passing Call can record first win at Doncaster
The ground was too heavy for Passing Call at Wincanton on Boxing Day, so we kept her back for the mares’ handicap hurdle at Doncaster on Friday (12.25). The ground should be better there and this looks an ideal race for her.
She was a beaten favourite at Southwell last month, but the winner has come out and won well at Fakenham since, so her form has a bit of depth to it.
She’s been second the last three times but has just bumped into one or two decent ones and there’s been no disgrace in any of her defeats.
Chato launches his season in the staying novice hurdle (2.05). He’s ready to start, though he wouldn’t want the ground to get too deep. He showed decent form in bumpers and should improve as a hurdler.
