Timourid won a maiden over course and distance on this card 12 months ago when trained by Denis Hogan, leading from start to finish, and connections may well have been eyeing up this Clonmel event (5.50) for quite some time.

The five-year-old also had a spell with James McAuley but changed hands at the start of the year, moving to the Paul Flynn yard. He won a handicap at Roscommon in the mud in May off a mark of 80 and is only 4lb higher in the weights now.
