Commonwealth Cup hero no certainty to start season with a bang
Eqtidaar
2.45 Leicester
SP forecast 7-4
Won only one of five starts last term, but made it count as the success came in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Although runner-up Sands Of Mali went on to win the Champions Sprint in October, there was a suspicion the three-year-olds were not a top bunch and Eqtidaar beat only four home in the July Cup and one in the Sprint Cup at Haydock. He doesn’t have a penalty to carry and, although up in trip, he ought to stay.
Conclusion I think this is an incredibly tight heat and he doesn’t interest me at that sort of price.
