Stand by for another Beauty Generation romp when the Hong Kong champion attempts to notch his 11th consecutive win, contesting today’s Group 2 Sha Tin Trophy (8.55). He is tipped to hack up.

There will be little opportunity for a punt, though, given that the John Moore-trained superstar is back in his comfort zone at 1m and will be at cramped odds. However, it will be another stepping stone toward his major objective, the Mile at the International Races in December.

Moore, in his final season with a Hong Kong licence, is going to milk it with this elite performer, who ranks with the very best imported since professional racing started here in 1971.

Moore is not the only trainer to follow today, as astute Chris So can grab his share of the limelight when he saddles unbeaten Classic Unicorn (6.45) and talented Mr Croissant (8.25), who can both win.

Classic Unicorn has impressed, winning twice down the Sha Tin ‘straight five,’ having the benefit of a stands (high) draw both times — and again he has a favoured gate, 10 of 13, which makes him the one to beat again in this Class Three 5f handicap sprint.

The So-trained Mr Croissant made up for a costly defeat on the opening day of the season by landing the money last time, and now he has struck form, he can follow up in the Class Three 6f handicap sprint.

This Sha Tin card features many up-and-coming types who can keep winning their way through the ranks. Another in this category is Golden Sixty (9.30), a Medaglia d’Oro gelding, the winner of four of his five starts, and now facing his biggest test in this Class Two 7f handicap.

His only failure came over 7f, but it was at the end of the season and he'd probably had enough. Coupled with that is a jump up in grade, which is a big step, but having said that, he should be up to making the progression.

Regular rider Vincent C Y Ho is again on the four-year-old, who starts from the inside gate, which should present the opportunity to travel in the box seat throughout.
