Triple Chief returns to fences after a pipe-opener over hurdles 2.05 Ludlow

Triple Chief's outing here last month on his first start since March looked every inch a sharpener for a chase campaign. Despite the ground being too fast for him in a decent contest, he went well for a long way before finishing fourth behind three higher-rated rivals –two of whom were last-time-out winners.

On his chase debut and final start last season, Chris Down's gelding jumped well on his way to finishing a clear runner-up at Plumpton to Like Sully, who has won again since.
